DRILL INSTRUCTIONS

Setting Up The Drill: Place one USPSA torso target 10 yards from the firing line. Shooter will start with an unloaded handgun and three magazines. Each magazine must be loaded with enough rounds to prevent the slide from locking back during the drill. Only 6 total rounds will be fired. The extra rounds are there to prevent slide-lock reloads and force the shooter

Starting Position: For those shooting from the holster, your start is handgun loaded and holstered, with hands below the beltline. For those shooting from low ready, begin with your handgun loaded, and at low ready.

Drill Instructions: Shooter will begin standing wrists below belt with an unloaded handgun holstered and three magazines carried in their normal reload position. Upon the audible start, shooter will draw, load the handgun, and engage the target with 1 round. After firing 1 round, the shooter will immediately perform a reload and engage the target with 2 rounds. After firing 2 rounds, the shooter will immediately perform a second reload and engage the target with 3 rounds.

Scoring and Handicaps: We are using Hit Factor scoring for this drill. If you are unfamiliar with this scoring system, it is your final point total divided by your time.

Alphas are worth 5 points.
Charlies are worth 3 points.
Deltas are worth 2 points.

This drill is scored with only 6 required shots. Extra shots are not allowed for leaderboard scoring because the purpose of this drill is round count control, proactive reload timing, and taking the next action immediately after firing the required number of rounds.

Any slide-lock reload means the run does not count for official scoring. The goal is to reload before the gun tells you to.

If you shoot this drill completely from concealment, remove 1.5 seconds from your final time as a handicap bonus.

Safety note: Any unsafe gun handling voids the run.

Summary: Easy as 1-2-3 is a reload-control drill built around one simple idea: shoot the required number of rounds, then immediately do the next thing.

This drill forces you to stay mentally engaged through the entire string. You are not waiting for the slide to lock back, you are not relying on the gun to tell you when to reload, and you are not casually finishing a shooting problem before remembering what comes next.

The challenge is not just speed. It is clean execution.
