DRILL INSTRUCTIONS

Thrill of the Bill Drill is a USPSA Classifier stage commonly seen at Level 1 matches. It takes the traditional Bill Drill and adds modifiers for strings 2 & 3. There will be no penalty for using an OWB holster this month however anyone who shoots this drill from low ready due to range restrictions needs to add 1.2 seconds on to each string. Targets are placed 7 yards away from the firing line, 2 feet apart from each other. If shooting this indoors, make sure to use 3 fresh targets and continuously record.

String 1: Shooter begins with gun holstered. Wrists Above Shoulders. On beep, shooter draws, and fires 6 rounds freestyle into target

String 2: Shooter begins with gun holstered. Wrists Above Shoulders. On beep, shooter draws, and fires 3 rounds freestyle into target, performs a mandatory reload and then fires another 3 rounds freestyle into target.

String 3: Shooter begins with gun holstered. Wrists Above Shoulders. On beep, shooter draws, and fires 3 rounds freestyle into target. Perform a mandatory reload and then shoot 3 rounds dominate hand only into the target.

Scoring: To get your hit factor, divide your final score by your time. You can see where you stack up against the rest of the country by plugging your hit factor into the USPSA classifier calculator under the stage name “Thrill of the Bill Drill”.
Alphas= 5 Points
Charlies= 3 Points
Deltas= 2 Points

The example video does not show wrist above shoulders. This would be an invalid run! Official instructions from USPSA Here

AUTHOR NOTES

Welcome to Spring yall! The point of this Month’s DOTM being a Level 1 classifier is to get anyone who hasn’t participated in competition shooting an opportunity to run a level 1 stage from USPSA. This is a great drill to test your draw to first shot, accuracy on faster splits, and reloads all in one. Goodluck everyone!
