“Everyone liked to say my shot timer times were faked and whatnot even with some being take at the range with live fire. But then I wipe them all out in my first ever shooting comp”
DUE DATE : 9/21/2024
PAR TIME : 10 seconds
ROUND COUNT : 10
DISTANCE : 10 Yards
TARGET : NRA B8 Repair Center Bullseye
OTHER NEEDED EQUIPMENT: Shot Timer, Firearm of 9mm Caliber or higher
Range Rival’s September drill challenge will follow the traditionally laid out rules. Scoring is out of 100 points (10 shots). If you are shooting a firearm with a capacity lower than 10, you would score your target based on the rounds shot. A revolver with a 6 round capacity would get scored out of 60 points. A 90% score under 10 seconds is required to hit par time. The drill is started from the low ready position to which the shooter will engage the target on audible start. Submissions are required to show video footage of the blank target, string of shooting, and scoring with no cuts in between to be eligible for the DOTM Champion title. Submit all video footage in the #drill submissions channel of our discord. Thanks to our staff members for helping organize this and all who participate!
Designed by Larry Vickers, The Test was made to be a baseline for Delta Force Operators to see how well they shoot handguns. We’re doing a modified variant (modified by Ken Hackathorn), that uses point scoring on the B8, rather than the original “all in the black” scoring of the Vicker’s method. This drill will get you to focus on your grip, accurate sight/dot alignment, and a good trigger press. Recoil control also comes into play here, as with 10 rounds fired, we’ve gotta be keeping the gun under control. For an advanced version, try shooting this drill from a concealment or duty-style holster.
