DRILL INSTRUCTIONS

Setting Up The Drill: Place 3 USPSA Torso targets at 7 yards from the firing line. Each target should be 1 yard apart from each other. Handgun is loaded and holstered.

Drill Instructions: Shooter will begin standing with wrists below the belt line. Upon the audible start, shooter will draw from the holster and engage targets T1-T3 with 2 rounds each. You may engage the targets in any order.

Scoring and Handicaps: We are using Hit Factor scoring for April’s drill. If you are unfamiliar with this scoring system, it is your final score divided by your time. Alphas are worth 5 Points, Charlies are worth 3 Points, and Deltas are worth 2 Points.

If you shoot this drill completely from concealment, remove 0.4 seconds from your time as a handicap bonus for being cool.

Safety note: Any unsafe gun handling voids the run.

Summary: The Blake Drill is a speed and transition focused drill. If you’ve been shooting Drill of the Month with us for a while now, you’ve seen a variety of speed and accuracy focused drills. Now, lets focus on getting from target to target. Realistically, you should be shooting for the same par time you’ve set for yourself on a Bill Drill. If 2.5 is your best run for that exercise, shoot for 2.5 here. At the end of the day, I would love to see as many people break that sub-2 second par time as possible!
