DECEMBER PRIZES: (2) “The Ugly Stand” Target Stands Any T-shirt from our store!
Our authors take a no-profit, no-incentive approach to anything we are sent for free to review. Special thanks to Warren from The Ugly Stand was kind enough to donate the two units we received for this month’s review.
As usual, the overall winner will receive a free T-shirt, but anyone who submits a run will earn a raffle ticket for the review item. The overall winner will also receive a 10% bonus to their odds based on the total number of entries — but the prize is truly anyone’s to win, so make sure you get a submission in.
Additionally, participants from November’s DOTM will receive a bonus raffle ticket this month as a thank you for your participation despite the changing weather!

DRILL INSTRUCTIONS

Drill Instructions:
This drill consists of three strings, all fired freestyle, from the holster or low ready (your choice, handicaps apply below).
String 1: 15 Yards Away, 5 Rounds, 7.5 Seconds Max Time
String 2: 10 Yards Away, 5 Rounds, 5 Seconds Max Time.
String 3: 5 yards Away, 5 Rounds, 2.5 Seconds Max Time.
Scoring and Handicaps:
We’re using total B8 point value as the score standard, combined with completion under each par time.
Accuracy Requirement:
Minimum total score: 135 points out of 150
All three strings must be completed under their par times
If you fail a par time or finish below 135, the run is a zero.
Handicaps:
Open rig = no handicap
Duty rig = –0.2 sec handicap (subtract .2 seconds per string)
Concealment = –0.5 sec handicap (subtract .5 seconds per string)
Low Ready = +0.6 sec penalty (add .6 seconds per string)
Safety note:
Any unsafe gun handling voids the run.
Summary: The Accelerated Super Test is a deceptively simple exercise that demands sharp fundamentals under increasing distance pressure. With only 2.5 seconds at 5 yards and a full 15-round string that must average nine-ring hits to pass, the drill punishes sloppy grip, poor throttle control, and rushed trigger work.
Your pace will need to shift as you get closer. Controlled fire at 15, pick up the pace at 10, burn it down at 5. Managing recoil while still guaranteeing B8-level accuracy forces you to find the balance between aggression and patience. A clean pass at 135+ points is a solid indicator of strong, match-ready fundamentals. Remember, you are not changing how you grip the gun as you shoot at different distances.
