September DOTM: Designated Target Drill

The challenge is not remembering to shoot four targets. It is repeatedly leaving a known target, aggressively finding a new one, firing two controlled shots, and immediately driving your vision and gun back to the Designated Target before moving on again.
August DOTM: 2nd Servings Drill

2nd Servings is a rifle transition and reload drill built around repeating the same two-target shooting problem in reverse. The first half begins and ends on the farther 20-yard target. After the mandatory reload, the second half begins and ends on the closer 7-yard target.
Cornhusker Classic 2026 Review
The Cornhusker Classic was hosted by the Eastern Nebraska Gun Club, as it has been since its inception in 2018. USPSA shooters from both South Dakota and Nebraska previously shared a “Great Plains Championship” sectional, which led to neither region having a reliable way to participate in a yearly Level 2 match. The Cornhusker Classic was Nebraska’s response to that need for a reliable Level 2 match in the region.
Buckeye Blast 2026 Review
Buckeye Blast was hosted this year at The Cardinal Center, as it has been in previous years. In terms of a professionally run event, this one absolutely felt the part. Between the event-specific website and quick links, an air-conditioned pro shop for registration and match management, food trucks, golf carts for property use, and campground availability specifically for club events, the match had a level of organization that stood out immediately.
June DOTM: Easy AS 1-2-3

Easy as 1-2-3 is a reload-control drill built around one simple idea: shoot the required number of rounds, then immediately do the next thing. This drill forces you to stay mentally engaged through the entire string. You are not waiting for the slide to lock back, you are not relying on the gun to tell you when to reload, and you are not casually finishing a shooting problem before remembering what comes next. The challenge is not just speed. It is clean execution.
Private Training: Is It Worth It? FT. Joshua Espinosa
“I’ve been shooting guns for about 5 years now and competing for 4 of those years. Growing up in the Philippines guns were never really a thing I was involved in due to the fact is very hard to own one there from the monetary stand point. I am a first generation gun guy in my family. I picked up my first gun a month before covid hit and I’ve been involved in it ever since.”
May DOTM: The Reverse Konami Code

The Reverse Konami Code is a drill of my own creation, and draws inspiration from the classic videogame cheat code. I wanted to make a drill that requires quick torso shots, but requires some deliberate shooting for good eyebox hits. I’m really a fan of the tighter scoring area of the eyebox, and am happy to work it back into one of our DOTMs.
The Art of Reloading in Competitive Shooting

Hey all! 6-1 here again, bringing some content regarding the illustrious act of reloading in a competition context. With this topic, I’m keeping it specific to non-retention reloads. I will not be covering retention reloads, where one stores the ejected magazine on their person as required by certain shooting leagues.
AimCam FPV Camera Glasses Review
AimCam is a wearable camera company built around one very specific idea: capturing what you actually see. Instead of mounting a camera on your chest, hat, or helmet and hoping it kind of matches your perspective, AimCam builds protective eyewear with an integrated camera designed to follow your natural line of sight.
That makes it especially useful for shooters, hunters, and other outdoor users where sight picture, target focus, and exact visual perspective actually matter. In other words, it is not just another action camera with a different mounting option. It is a purpose-built POV system for people who want footage that looks like a true first-person view instead of a close approximation.
April DOTM: The Blake Drill

The Blake Drill is a speed and transition focused drill. If you’ve been shooting Drill of the Month with us for a while now you’ve seen a variety of speed and accuracy focused drills. Now lets focus on getting from target to target. Realistically you should be shooting for the same par time you’ve set for yourself on a Bill Drill. If 2.5 is your best run for that exercise, shoot for 2.5 here. At the end of the day I would love to see as many people break that sub 2 second par time as possible!
